The Memento Round Dining Table by the premier Canadian design house Huppé is a magnificent, visually captivating masterclass in contemporary organic luxury and artisanal structural engineering. Masterfully envisioned by the celebrated French-Canadian industrial designer Joel Dupras, the Memento table completely reimagines the traditional pedestal framework.
Handcrafted to order in Quebec, Canada, from premium North American white oak, this flagship circular centerpiece acts as a striking, architectural anchor for intimate dining rooms and open-concept great rooms alike—shunning boring post legs in favor of old-world woodworking heritage updated for the modern era.
The defining masterpiece of the Memento table is its majestic central column. Joel Dupras cleverly reinvented the pedestal base by creating a continuous, rhythmic pillar made up of 24 individual white oak panels. These panels are meticulously locked together using traditional mortise and tenon joints, creating a beautifully structured, faceted silhouette that pays subtle poetic homage to a vintage oak wine barrel.
Because the architectural stave-pillar is strictly centralized, it frees up the table's entire perimeter. Guests can stretch their legs completely unhindered, and your dining armchairs can slide all the way underneath when dinner concludes.
In addition, the table top also features a selection of the flawless 10mm thick acid-etched lacquered glass top for the modern side. For those in favor of natural stones, the top can be specified with a heavy, luxurious slab of genuine stone—such as White Cherokee Marble or Saint Henry Black Granite. This combination introduces a magnificent geological texture that is incredibly durable and sophisticated.
