The Napoleon Masterwood dining table (designed by Paolo Cattelan for Cattelan Italia) is the absolute pinnacle of the Napoleon collection. It represents a breathtaking dialogue between groundbreaking ceramic engineering and heritage Italian woodwork. Rather than a single static design, it is a masterwork of dual textures and structure. Instead of a standard flat plank of wood veneer, the Masterwood top treats premium wood like an intricate puzzle canvas.
The intricate layout features a boat-shaped profile constructed from hand-selected, longitudinal and diagonal planks of varying sizes. This jigsaw, herringbone-style orientation causes the natural wood grains to run in alternating directions, beautifully catching room lighting and creating rich visual movement across the surface. The "Oblique" edge profiling results in zero harsh angles or boxy 90 degree cuts on the perimeter. The entire outer border features oblique, smooth, and completely rounded edges that curve seamlessly underneath. You can select exclusively in Canaletto Walnut Masterwood (NC) or Burned Oak Masterwood (RB).
The standout feature of Napoleon Masterwood is its central pedestal base. Utilizing a cutting-edge, patent-protected ceramic modeling technique, Cattelan Italia successfully sculpted marbled ceramic into graceful, sinuous curves with rounded edges. The central base is formed by two perfectly symmetrical, curved ceramic hulls that meet in the middle. On the short sides of the base plinth, a deliberate, recessed vertical groove breaks up the stone pattern. This architectural gap adds a layer of depth and shadow to the otherwise seamless, uniform column.
