The Papel Masterwood Dining Table (part of the Papel Wood family) by the ultra-premium Italian brand Cattelan Italia is the most intricate wooden iteration of this iconic line. 

Designed by Margherita Fanti, the Masterwood version replaces standard wooden planks with a complex, mosaic-like wooden top, perfectly contrasting organic craft with industrial geometry. While other versions feature glass or ceramic, the Masterwood top introduces an incredible level of high-end Italian carpentry. Instead of a solid flat slab, the top is meticulously constructed from diagonal wooden planks of varying sizes, assembled to create a stunning, geometric chevron pattern that highlights the natural grain of the wood. It merges organic warmth with sculptural design, transforming the dining space into a true architectural statement. Its distinctive boat-shaped Masterwood top in rich Canaletto walnut highlights carefully matched planks and expressive grain patterns, celebrating the authenticity and craftsmanship of solid wood while offering a refined, tailored profile.

Beneath, the signature Papel base features a series of curved, folded steel forms inspired by the soft movement of paper, creating rhythm, depth, and dramatic visual texture. Finished in Titanium, Bronze, OxyBrass, or OxyGrey embossed lacquered steel, the base provides exceptional stability and a bold contemporary contrast to the warmth of the wood.
