The Papel Premium Edge variants (officially known as the Papel Keramik Premium and Papel Wood with Profile) represent the absolute pinnacle of luxury within the Papel collection by Cattelan Italia. Designed by Margherita Fanti, the "Premium" moniker specifically indicates that the table top is elevated by a thick, hand-finished brushed metallic border that acts as a frame, adding magnificent visual weight to the design.
While standard models have tops that terminate cleanly at the edge, the Premium Edge versions encase the primary material (ceramic or wood) within a rigid, decorative rim. This border is rounded underneath and serves to ground the table, creating a dramatic, sandwich-like luxury profile. The premium edge is finished to seamlessly match or contrast with the table’s iconic wave-shaped single-piece steel base, reflecting light in tandem with the base's curves. It scales the luxury up significantly by introducing a thick, hand-brushed rounded lower profile (either in Brushed Bronze or Brushed Grey metal). This extra structural framing gives the table a substantial, multi-layered look (2” thick on the 94 ½" size and 2 ½" thick on the 118” size), adding warmth and a tailored metallic accent that elevates the table’s sophisticated character.

The signature base features a series of curved, folded steel elements inspired by the fluid motion of paper, creating depth, rhythm, and dramatic visual presence. Finished in titanium embossed lacquered steel, the base provides both strength and modern elegance.
