The Planer Ceramic-Wood Round dining table, designed by Paolo Cattelan for Cattelan Italia, is a sophisticated fusion of natural materials and contemporary Italian craftsmanship. Created for those who appreciate the warmth and character of wood but also desire the practicality and elegance of ceramic, this table beautifully combines the best of both worlds.

Its most distinctive feature is the layered, multi-material tabletop. The design is divided into two complementary elements:

The Outer Ring – Wood
A generous perimeter band crafted in either Canaletto Walnut (NC) or Burned Oak (RB) surrounds the table, bringing warmth, texture, and the inviting feel of natural wood. It creates a comfortable and tactile surface where guests naturally rest their hands and arms.

The Central Insert – Ceramic
Set perfectly flush within the wooden frame is a large insert in Cattelan Italia's luxurious Marmi ceramic. Available in finishes such as Glossy Sahara Noir, Taj Mahal, Invisible, and Matt Portoro, the ceramic center delivers the timeless beauty of marble while offering exceptional durability. Resistant to scratches, stains, and heat, it is designed to withstand everyday use without sacrificing elegance.

For an even more functional dining experience, the table is also available with an integrated rotating center, commonly known as a Lazy Susan. Hidden beneath the ceramic insert is a precision-engineered aluminum mechanism with stainless-steel ball bearings, allowing the center section to rotate effortlessly and silently through 360 degrees. This thoughtful feature makes serving and sharing dishes easy, turning both formal entertaining and family-style dining into a more interactive experience.

The tabletop is supported by the signature Planer steel base, an architectural composition of intersecting trestles and dynamic geometric lines. By concentrating the structure toward the center of the table, the design maximizes legroom and allows for comfortable seating all around the perimeter.

The base is available in a range of finishes, including textured embossed lacquers in Titanium, Bronze, Graphite, and Black, as well as hand-finished Brushed Bronze and Brushed Grey metallics, allowing the table to complement a wide variety of interior styles.
