The Skorpio Round Dining Table blends sculptural geometry with refined materials to create a striking yet versatile centerpiece. If you love the highly social, intimate feeling of a circular dining table but want a centerpiece that feels like a piece of modern architectural art, the Skorpio Round (designed by Andrea Lucatello for Cattelan Italia) is the ultimate solution. While many round tables rely on a boring, predictable single-cylinder pedestal, the Skorpio introduces thrilling geometry to the center of your room. By pairing its legendary steel base with a pure glass top, it turns your dining area into a transparent, light-filled gallery space.
The absolute soul of the Skorpio collection is its intersecting steel base. Instead of four standard corner legs or a bulky central pillar, the base is a complex web of heavy-duty steel blades that crisscross in the center of the floor. The genius of this design is how it plays with visual weight, especially when condensed into a circular footprint. From one angle, the base looks like a solid, heavy steel hourglass. Take two steps to the left, and it suddenly opens up into an airy, transparent starburst. ou can ground the table with highly textured, light-catching embossed steel (like Titanium, Bronze, Graphite, or Black) or elevate it to pure luxury with hand-brushed metallics like Brushed Bronze or Brushed Grey.
To ensure the brilliant architecture of the base remains fully visible from absolutely every angle, the pure Skorpio Round features a massive, 15mm thick tempered glass top. You can order the top in standard clear glass, which has that classic, subtle green tint along the polished edge. However, if you want pure, icy transparency, the Extra-Clear option is iron-filtered to remove all green hues, leaving a totally colorless, crystal-like surface that allows you to look straight down into the heart of the metal base. The edge of the glass is expertly polished, and on certain sizes, it features a beautifully reverse-beveled edge that catches the ambient room lighting and creates a brilliant, gleaming halo around the perimeter of the table. It is built in several beautifully proportioned diameters to perfectly scale with your room: Ø 51 inches (130 cm ), seating 4 to 5 guests spaciously; Ø 55 inches (140 cm), a highly versatile mid-size option that easily accommodates 5 to 6 guests for daily family meals; Ø 63 inches (160 cm), the perfect everyday sweet spot for a dedicated dining space, seating 6 to 8 guests beautifully without crowding the room.
